Get to Know Your Ghyd
It was the purpose combined with the passion that drew this South Carolina native to Ghyd Adventures. A deep love for the outdoors and the constant devotion to giving back created a drive to help others.
William found his passion in life at a young age in the rivers that flow through the Appalachian Mountains. He began fishing every weekend which turned into more than just a hobby. He became enamored by every aspect of the outdoors while fishing and traveling.
Once he was older he was able to grasp how fortunate he was to be able to travel and see the world. Meeting the natives of other countries inspired William in thinking on how he could give back to the people that impacted his life so greatly. Some of his best memories are fishing the Little BigHorn in Montana as well as bill fishing off the coast of Mexico.
A friends trip to the wilderness regions of Manitoba, Canada where we stayed in a very small cabin on the Hudson Bay. I was convinced there was catfish in the small portions of the Hudson Bay near the cabin. Everybody was telling me “no way.” On this particular trip, I happen to bring my saltwater gear. I snuck off alone with rod in hand, and after only minutes of getting situated my rod doubled over with a 40 plus pound catfish on the end of it. So needless to say when I called the guys down to take a look everybody went back and grabbed their rods!
